We are looking for a few good women who have fought the battle against breast cancer and are ready to share their strength with others in the trenches.

Breast Cancer Boot Camp and Breast Center of Southern Arizona are teaming up to offer one-on-one mentoring to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients.

Breast Cancer Boot Camp Group Fitness Programs

Breast Cancer Boot Camp incorporates a variety of exercises designed to be effective and challenging for all fitness levels as participants move through various stages of treatment and recovery. Classes are held in a park setting, on a custom-designed exercise course, with plenty of fresh air and freedom to move. Hour-long sessions allow time to experience a great workout, share stories and set goals. Together we will support each other and celebrate accomplishments.

Our unique program is designed to:

  • Be effective and challenging
  • Provide options for all fitness levels
  • Be easily modified or adapted as your energy and fitness levels change
  • Combine stretching and strength-training to build stamina needed for daily activities
  • Use a variety of tools - like dumbbells and playground equipment - to keep each workout fresh and fun

One-on-One Mentoring

Have you been recently diagnosed with breast cancer? Would you like to talk to someone who knows just what you are going through? Many of our troops are available to talk on the phone, meet for coffee, share their experiences and offer you support. We try and match you with a mentor that has gone through a course of treatment. Call or email us for more information.

Breast Friends Lunch Bunch

Overcoming difficult obstacles brings us closer together. Survivors and buddies - join us once a month (September through May) for informal networking over a delicious lunch. Enjoy catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. Plus, we won't make you do pushups! Each person responsible for her own meal and gratuity - seperate checks available. For more information or to be placed on the contact list for Breast Friends, email Pam Chess at pamchess@msn.com.

Mentor Training

If you have fought the battle against breast cancer and are ready to share your strength with someone in the trenches, we invite you to be a mentor. No one should have to go through treatment and recovery alone. BCBC is teaming up with Breast Center of Southern Arizona to offer mentor training for our one-on-one mentoring program. For more information, call Anita Kellman at 546-1601.

BCBC Community Lecture Series

Our opportunity to invite top speakers to share recent developments and important knowledge related to breast cancer and general health. Open to the public, these free lectures are an important part of our outreach and education. Let us know what topics you would like to see presented in the future. Call or email us for more information or to be placed on the contact list for the Community Lecture Series.
